SwiftUI vs Storyboard
Choosing between Storyboard and SwiftUI feels like picking between your reliable old toolbox and the sleek new gadget everyone’s raving about — but which one truly builds the better app?
The tech world, as we all know, doesn’t wait around for anyone. One minute you’re feeling like you’ve mastered a framework, and the next, Apple drops something shiny and new that has you scratching your head all over again.
For me, that moment came when SwiftUI was announced at WWDC. I’d spent years mastering Storyboard — dragging, dropping, and drawing up complex UI layouts in Xcode. It wasn’t always perfect, but it was home. Then, boom, SwiftUI enters the scene like the cool new kid in school, and suddenly, I’m left wondering if I should stick to my trusty Storyboard or dive headfirst into SwiftUI.
If you’ve ever felt this way, trust me — you’re not alone. Every iOS developer has faced this fork in the road at some point. And like every major decision in life, each path has its perks and its pitfalls.
So, here’s my take on it. No buzzwords, no jargon overload — just a personal walk down two very different paths, both leading to the same destination: building apps that people love.
